Hi Everyone! Today I am going to talk about my 2 Spring Theme Center Blow Out Videos! Both Videos incorporate the same Blow Out technique but they have different interesting colorings. This will give an idea of what can be done still using the same colors but re-arranging the order. Both I found to be highly fascinating the ways in which they mixed together!
Firstly, Spring Theme Center Blow Out starts with a Muscat Deep Purple Color! Then, layered on top in rings, in order of appearance is Sugar Beet Pink, Light Hot Pink, Tanzanite Blue, Tropics Green, Early Spring Green and for layering contrast some Pure White and Hot Pink! In the very center, I am overlapping some Pure White Drizzles to give the center more effect. Which comes out miraculous in the end.
In both of these paintings, my pillow paints are semi-thicker than my other colors. This is to ensure that when I blow out my colors, I am able to pick up those colors fairly well to mesh them together across the canvas. All of my colors have 2-3 drops of silicone oil per cup, which will give a very nice cell effect once it's mixed and blown out with my painting hair dryer.
To start the blow out, I center myself to only put the hair dryer down on the very center to pull the paint out to the edges. For this piece, I like to work my way around like a clock hand, pulling the paint right from the center. I keep the blow dryer close to the canvas when I am pulling from the center then hold back a bit when I push the paint off of the canvas. This is to get a good grab of the paint going.
When I am done with the blow out, I take a stir stick and pull around some of the white and pinks in the middle to cover up more of that deep purple, which also gives a prettier look!
For my Second video, I first pour down and smooth out my pillow paint with my pie knife. The pillow paint color I am using for this painting is the Tsunami Green. Also, thicker in consistency than the rest of my colors. Next, I start to pour my colors starting with making a circle in the center with Sugar Beet Pink. From here, I pour Light Hot Pink right on top in the center of the Sugar Beet. To add more dimension to this piece, I weave Hot Pink in a flower design between the 2 pinks. Then, Pure White is Stacked on the inside of the Light Pink. A heaping portion of Tanzanite Blue is placed on top of the Pure White. Tropics Green, then, Early Spring Green are next! Now it starts to really push out that Sugar Beet Pink into many different circles on top of each other. To finalize this pour, I drizzle and weave Pure White Between the 2 greens to give the center a bursting effect.
From here, its time to do the Blow Out! Using the same technique I did for my first painting, I start to blow from the center out to the edges of the painting! Afterward, I incorporate a slight tilt. Then! All Done! A Beautiful masterpiece!
I am enclosing the links to the videos of these creations from my You Tube channel at the bottom of this post! Let me know what you guys think or if you have any questions!
