High Dimensional Paint Mixing!!

Hi everyone! Today, Id love to chat with you about paint mixing. Painting is something that I have only recently started to become interested in over about the last year or so. I love to do all types of painting, but one of my super favorites types is fluid art. For anyone that isn't familiar with fluid art, it is a more abstract flow of painting. Fluid art paints need to be either cut with a medium or just enhanced with water to create a flow upon the canvas. Since I love to paint in high volume amounts, I use mainly home paints. Home paints you can buy by the gallon at any home improvement store. I prefer to use a good cover base with semi-gloss added. From here I cut my paints with all purpose glue to create a more fluid flow. My ration is roughly 30-40 percent glue, 60-70 percent paint. Then, on top of that perhaps a 20 percent ratio of water as my base is watered down as well. To help to understand this, I have done a paint mixing video, which I recorded during my time in Oklahoma at the first part of this year. In the video, I show how to mix paints of all different varieties.

Firstly, I take the gallon home paints, fill 2-liters about half full of paint. From there I eye my medium mixture, then, add water until I achieve the correct consistency. I love to use home paints as a pillow paint. Which is a color that rarely gets seen in the painting itself, but instead is used to flow the other colors across the canvas. You will see me using all different types of paints, whether they are cheap, or expensive. The main thing for me is the color choicing. I love to use squirt bottles to create my own colors to enhance new dimensions within my artwork. During my paint mixing video you will see me mixing 3-4 different times of paints together. To check it out, I will enclose the link at the bottom of this posting.

Till Next Time My Friends!
